The City of Lake Elsinore proudly offers special events year round, and with each new season there are new opportunities to explore our city and participate in events that enrich your family life. As 2016 rolls on, there will be more to do and see; we hope you'll  get in on all the action planned at our annual community events.

Volunteers are an important part of many events; if you would like to volunteer, contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 951-674-3124 ext 290. Teens, ages 15 years or older, may volunteer for Special Events earning community service hours  required for graduation. 


March 26 - Children's Fair and Egg Hunt

Join in the hunt at McVicker Canyon Park, 29355 Grand Ave, at 10 a.m. sharp as kids ages 1 to 8 years try to find their share of 8,000 candy stuffed eggs. Visit the Children's Fair after the hunt from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for free activities, live entertainment, bouncers and food vendors. May 7 - Twenty16 Pet Walk

Come out and enjoy a scenic walk along our levee, 500 Diamond Drive, and you will have the opportunity to be entered to win great raffle prizes for your furry friend! There will be vendors providing information on pet services and mobile grooming units. Please call (951) 245-0442 for more information on participating!


June 4 - Just 4 Kids Fishing Derby

The 16th Annual Just for Kids Fishing Derby will be held at La Laguna Resort & Boat Launch, 32040 Riverside Drive, available for kids ages 15 years and younger. Participants can fish for prizes! Kids must provide their own tackle and poles. Call the Lake Community Center at (951) 245-0442 for more information on registering.

Movies in the Park, After Dark

Our Movies in the Park, After Dark series will begin on June 15. Spend some quality time with your family this summer in our Movies in the Park summer series at Summerlake Park, 900 W Broadway. Bring your own blankets, chairs and snacks as we watch some of our favorite animated films! All animated features are rated G or PG. Call (951) 674-3124 ext. 292 after March 1 for movie titles.

Summer Nights in the Park

4th of July

The City of Lake Elsinore is sponsoring an Independence Day Celebration by hosting a fireworks show over Lake Elsinore. The fireworks will be launched from the T-peninsula of the levee system, located at the southern end of the Lake starting at 9:00 p.m.You will be able to synch music with the show by tuning in to radio station KOLA99.9.


December 3 - Winterfest

Our annual Winterfest event will now be held in Historic Downtown Lake Elsinore from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Families will enjoy a holiday parade, bouncers, kids crafts, sled runs, cultural and musical entertainment, visits with Santa, crafters, shopping and dining with both restaurants and food vendors. Best parking is along Spring St or in the lot at Heald Ave and Main St across from the Cultural Center. This event reaches four downtown blocks from Heald Ave to City Park, offering low cost or free activities for the whole family.
